1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Budget GPA ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Budget GPA is a personal finance application that scores your budget across five weighted categories and provides a letter grade (A+ through F) and GPA. The App offers both a free tier and a paid subscription tier ("Pro") with additional features.
The App is a budgeting and awareness tool. It does not provide financial advice, investment recommendations, or tax guidance. You should consult a qualified financial professional for personalized financial decisions.
3. Account Registration
- You must create an account to use the App.
- You must provide a valid email address and create a password.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to update it if it changes.
4. Subscriptions and Payments
Free Tier
The free tier provides full access to the 5-category scoring engine, manual transaction entry, budget tracking, subscription tracking, basic alerts, and other features as described in the App.
Pro Tier
Pro is available as a monthly subscription ($3.99/month), annual subscription ($39.99/year), or lifetime purchase ($99.99 one-time). All Pro tiers unlock the same features.
Billing
- Subscriptions are billed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Monthly and annual subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's App Store or Play Store settings.
- Lifetime purchases are a one-time, non-recurring charge.
Lifetime Membership Availability
Lifetime memberships are limited to 500 per calendar year. When the annual limit is reached, lifetime purchases are no longer available until the following January 1.
Refunds
Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
Free Trial
Pro may include a 7-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your selected subscription will begin and you will be charged. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple or Google.
5. Bank Connections (Plaid)
- Bank connections are an optional Pro feature provided through Plaid, a third-party service.
- By connecting a bank account, you authorize Plaid to access your transaction data and account balances on your behalf.
- Your bank login credentials are handled entirely by Plaid and are never shared with or stored by us.
- You can disconnect bank accounts at any time from the Connected Accounts screen.
- We are not responsible for outages, delays, or errors in Plaid's service.
6. AI-Powered Features
Pro users may use AI-powered transaction classification, which sends transaction details (merchant names, amounts, and dates) to Anthropic's Claude API for category suggestions. AI suggestions are automated and may be inaccurate. No account numbers, balances, or personally identifying financial information is sent to the AI service.
7. Your Data
- You own your financial data. We store it on your behalf to provide the service.
- You can export your data (Pro) or delete your account at any time.
- Account deletion permanently removes all associated data from our systems. This cannot be undone.

8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose, attempt to access other users' data, reverse engineer the App, interfere with the App's infrastructure, or resell access to the App.
9. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, scoring algorithms, content, and branding, is the property of Legendarily Imperfect, LLC and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
10. Disclaimers
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
Not financial advice. Budget GPA is a budgeting tool, not a financial advisor. Scores, grades, alerts, and suggestions are for informational purposes only.
Third-party services. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or security of third-party services beyond our reasonable control.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, LEGENDARILY IMPERFECT, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of North Carolina.
